Tissot Watches: Navigating Warranty and After-Sales ServicesTissot, recognized as a gateway to owning Swiss watches for many in China, offers affordable pricing. Its widespread market presence means Tissot holds a significant share of Swiss watches owned in the region. Given its popularity, understanding Tissot’s warranty and after-sales services becomes crucial for owners encountering issues with their timepieces.
Warranty Duration for Tissot Watches
Most Tissot watches come with a two-year warranty, calculated from the date mentioned on the warranty card. Within this period, authentic watches are eligible for warranty services. Following Rolex’s lead in extending the warranty period, Tissot has also adjusted its policy. Since September 1, 2017, any Tissot watch purchased from authorized dealers or Tissot’s official online and Tmall stores, and certified by the Observatory, is entitled to an additional one-year warranty, summing up to three years of global warranty coverage. This extension might seem modest, but it’s significant considering Tissot’s price point and market position. However, two critical conditions apply: 1) The extension only applies to purchases made after the policy’s implementation date, September 1, 2017; 2) Only Observatory-certified models are eligible, excluding other models from this benefit.
Considerations for Tissot’s Warranty
1. According to the product maintenance instructions and warranty terms, the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage to the watch’s strap and external appearance.2. To avail of effective after-sales service, it’s vital to retain purchase documents and the warranty card. Unauthorized opening of the watch case or battery cover may void the warranty, especially if the maintenance voucher is erased or altered, reserving the right for the service provider to deny warranty claims.
3. Services rendered by unauthorized repair centers, including opening or modifications leading to product failure, are not covered under warranty.
4. Post-purchase incidents like glass scratches, cracks, case damages, back cover scratches, or misaligned crowns, generally result from usage and are not covered under warranty.
Understanding the warranty and after-sales service for Tissot watches ensures owners can maintain their timepieces effectively, enjoying the precision and elegance that Swiss watches offer for years to come.
