Why Buy a Watch When You Have a Smartphone?
Ever thought about the times when having a smartphone isn’t enough? For instance, during flights, especially on domestic routes, you’re required to turn off your phone. When driving or riding a motorcycle, especially on highways, glancing at a watch is safer than checking a phone. And while swimming or diving, a phone is utterly useless.
In professional settings, wearing a watch (preferably one not pricier than your boss’s) showcases time management skills, while constantly checking your phone might indicate distraction or a lack of focus on work.
Photographers still prefer DSLR cameras over smartphones with cameras, so why should watches be any different?
Research has shown that watches have a greater appeal to the opposite sex than smartphones. There’s a saying, “Checking the time on your smartphone and wearing a $3 million Patek Philippe watch may tell the same time, but the impression they leave is worlds apart.”
Do you remember the phone you used ten years ago? Will you remember today’s model in another decade? A Rolex from ten years ago remains a Rolex today and will continue to be a Rolex a hundred years from now. With proper care, mechanical watches can last over a century without trouble.
A watch isn’t just about telling time; it’s a statement about your lifestyle, your values, and, perhaps most importantly, your respect for time itself.
